Audrie Chavez MD PhD, UTSW Dallas

Dr. Audrie Chavez is a third year Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation resident at UT Southwestern Medical Center who believes that all patients should have access to equitable care. She has a passion for research in health disparities, traumatic brain injury, and stroke rehabilitation to name a few. She has been published in Burns and the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine. She holds an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University where she majored in Biology and Spanish, a master of public health degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where she majored in epidemiology, and a medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center. She hopes to further her education and expand her skill set by pursuing a fellowship in Brain Injury following completion of her residency program. 

Ryan Whitmer DO, BUMC/Dallas

Ryan Whitmer, D.O., completed his Biology degree graduating Cum Laude from Texas A&M University, he then attended medical school at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. Dr. Whitmer is currently in his last year of his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, and will continue his education and training at UT Southwestern with a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine. Dr. Whitmer is passionate about sports, as he played football at Texas A&M. In his spare time he enjoys time with his wife and two children, cooking, traveling, and reading.

 

Bei Zhang MD, UT Health/Houston

 Dr. Bei Zhang is currently a PGY-4 PM&R resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She obtained her medical degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, a master’s degree from Fudan University, and completed clinical training at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University (Shanghai, China) before she came here. She will be a brain injury medicine fellow at the Harvard Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Program in the coming academic year.
